(aka 'The Silver Streak')
Crawford was taken in because his lady owner had deteriorating health problems and could no longer take care of him.
When we initially saw the scamp he was very wary of strangers and was happy to dash off (something which would initiate the thought of ferret-racing in later months) to dash off to his refuge up and inside the back of an armchair amongst the stuffing.
He was quite a cream colour which is why we re-named him Crawford (Cream Crackers). He soon settled down and has become a shining light in the Welfare, enjoying his role as a leader of the ferret-racing crew, starring with his cage companions at the many events we are asked to attend. His latest appearance was at a wedding celebration overlooking Lake Windermere.
